The Town of Milton is offering a full lineup of free and low-cost recreational activities to celebrate Family Day next week.
Residents can take part in skating, swimming, sports, and fitness programs at select recreation centres throughout the day. At the Milton Sports Centre, families can pick up a Family Day passport, collect stamps from key areas, and enter completed passports into a prize draw while redeeming them for free popcorn at concessions. Free public skating will be available in Rink C from 10:15 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. and in Rink D from 11:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., with space limited and no pre-registration. The centre will also host free family-focused activities including basketball and dodgeball from 10:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m., an Olympic figure skating watch party from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to cheer on hometown skater Lia Pereira and partner Trennt Michaud, Family Zumba sessions at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., and Family Fit Kids at 12:30 p.m.
Additional offerings at the Milton Sports Centre include fun swims and Stick ‘N Puck sessions with regular admission, free children’s drop-in activities from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and a free sensory-friendly drop-in from 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. featuring hands-on activities for all ages and abilities. Capacity is limited for all drop-in programs.
At the Mattamy National Cycling Centre, families can enjoy drop-in pickleball, badminton, table tennis, and volleyball, with regular admission and pre-registration encouraged.
Sherwood Community Centre will offer public skating in Rink 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., free fun swims from 10:15 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. and noon to 1:25 p.m., Stick ‘N Puck sessions at various times, and two free drumming workshop and colouring sessions at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with space limited.
Family Day is taking place on Monday, February 16th.
