The Milton Menace broke even over the weekend.
On Friday, February 6th, the boys welcomed in the Oakville Blades to the Milton Memorial Arena.
It was Nathan Catalano who opened the scoring in the first period. His 11th goal of the year was assisted by Dean Deligeorgis and Jason Zhou. The Blades would then score twice to briefly take the lead, but Milton would score before the end of the frame. Tristan Tremble’s 17th of the year was assisted by Zhou and Sam Pye. It was 2-2 after 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, Catalano and Zhou would give the Menace a 4-2 lead, which they then took into second intermission.
While Oakville would score with a couple seconds remaining in the game, Milton would clinch the 4-3 victory.
Hayden Duncan was in net to start the game for Milton. He was replaced by Austin McKillop after stopping just four of six shots for the .667% save percentage. As for McKillop, he faced 21 shots, stopping 20, giving him a .952% save percentage and the win.
Just two days later, the Menace travelled to King City to take on the Rebellion.
It was King who scored first, but the Menace were able to respond within the period. Ashtyn Pacheco’s 25th of the year was assisted by Josh Currie and Tristan Tremble. It was 1-1 after one period of play.
In the second period, Nathan Catalano continued his hot weekend, adding his 13th of the year. Pacheco and Ivan Fabjan were credited with the assists. The Rebellion would then take over, scoring two unanswered goals to lead 3-2 after 40 minutes.
King would add an empty netter in the final frame, making it a 4-2 loss for the Menace.
Austin McKillop was in net once again, stopping just 18 of 21 shots he faced. That gave him an .857% save percentage and the loss.
Next up for the Menace is a road game against the Burlington Cougars on Friday, February 13th. Game time at the Central Arena is set for 7:30 p.m.
They return home on Sunday, February 15th when they host the Toronto Patriots. That one starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Milton Memorial Arena. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
