The 2026 Winter Olympics are almost here!
Competition begins on Wednesday, February 4th with preliminary action taking place. The Opening Ceremony will then start on Friday, February 6th.
This year’s games are being held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
Halton will be well represented, with all four municipalities having at least one athlete to cheer on:
Milton
- Lia Pereira (Figure Skating)
Halton Hills
- Sarah Fillier (Hockey)
Oakville
- Brianne Jenner (Hockey)
- Evan McEachran (Freestyle Skiing)
- Kaylie Buck (Snowbaord)
- Kristin O’Neill (Hockey)
- Madeline Schizas (Figure Skating)
Burlington
- Emma Maltais (Hockey)
- Renata Fast (Hockey)
Canada will be sending a total of 207 athletes to the Olympics this year. View the roster here.
Events will be held nearly every day for more than two weeks, with the event closing on Sunday, February 22nd.
