The Milton Menace and their recent losing woes continued this week.
They travelled to Wellington to take on the Dukes in a day game at the Lehigh Arena Wellington. This game follows a weekend that saw the Menace lose two in a row to Toronto and Pickering. Read more here.
It was Milton who actually scored the first goal, with it taking just 35 seconds for Josh Currie to get on the board. His 12th of the season was assisted by Wolf Giles and Gabe Runco. The Menace would take the 1-0 lead into the first intermission after outshooting the Dukes 24-7.
In the second period, Wellington took over. They scored back-to-back goals early on to take the lead. It was 2-1 Dukes after 40 minutes of action.
Milton would fail to score in the final frame, with Wellington adding some late insurance thanks to an empty netter. The Dukes beat the Menace 3-1.
Hayden Duncan was in net for Milton. He stopped 20 of 22 shots, giving him the .909% save percentage in the losing effort.
The Menace return home on Friday, January 30th when they host the the Leamington Flyers at the Milton Memorial Arena. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
