A Brampton man has been arrested and charged by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) following an investigation into alleged sexual assaults connected to online job advertisements targeting women seeking employment.
Police say the investigation involves two separate incidents that occurred in March and December 2025, after the accused allegedly posted “help wanted” ads on Kijiji for entry-level data entry positions. Investigators believe the ads were used to target female victims who were new to Canada. Police allege that after arranging interviews, the accused picked up the victims and drove them to isolated industrial parking lots, where one victim was sexually assaulted and another was offered employment opportunities in exchange for a sexual relationship.
Police say one incident occurred in Milton and the other in Halton Hills. As a result of the investigation, 47-year-old Tejinder Dhaliwal of Brampton was arrested on Monday, January 26th. He has been charged with:
- Sexual Assault
- Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration
Dhaliwal was held for a bail hearing on Tuesday, January 27th and was released.
