The Milton Menace failed to get a win over the weekend.
On Friday, January 23rd, the Menace welcomed in the Toronto Patriots to the Milton Memorial Arena for a battle of the best in the OJHL.
It was all Toronto early on, and that was the story for just about the entire game. The Menace were able to get on the board late in the third period, but it was not enough, as the Patriots cruised to a 4-1 win.
In net for Milton was Austin McKillop. He stopped 34 of 28 shots, giving him the .894% save percentage and the loss.
It was a quick turnaround for the Menace, as they hit the road on Saturday, January 24th to play the Pickering Panthers at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex.
This time around, the Milton offence showed up early. It was a lot of the newcomers as well, as Milton received goals from Jason Zhou, Wolf Giles, and Jacob Strizzi in the opening frame. Nathan Catalano was also able to get in on the scoring splurge, helping the Menace take a 4-1 lead into the first intermission.
All of that good will went away in the second period, as the Panthers powered back with four goals of their own. It was 5-4 Pickering after 40 minutes of action.
The Panthers would then score an empty netter for insurance in the third to claim a 6-4 win.
Austin McKillop was back in net for Milton. He had a lighter night compared to Friday, but his 20 saves on 25 shots (and .800% save percentage) weren’t enough to claim the victory.
The Menace will look to rebound on Wednesday, January 28th when they travel to Wellington to play the Dukes in another day game. Game time at the Lehigh Arena Wellington is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
They return home on Friday, January 30th when they host the the Leamington Flyers at the Milton Memorial Arena. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
