Grade 10 students across Simcoe Muskoka are being encouraged to apply for a leadership opportunity with the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.
The board is now accepting applications for Student Trustee, a role that gives students a voice at the board level by attending meetings, participating in Student Senate, and representing student perspectives from across SMCDSB schools.
The two-year term begins August 1st, and is open to students interested in leadership, advocacy, and community involvement. Students do not need to be Catholic to apply. The position offers mentorship, opportunities to attend conferences and events, and includes an honorarium.
Applications are due by March 4th, with the election taking place during the Student Senate meeting on March 26th.
