The Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) will have another partner for their Fill a Crib campaign.
Halton Hills Public Library (HHPL) announced that it’s taking part in the campaign for the first time to support local families in need of infant and menstrual care supplies.
This community-wide campaign runs from until January 15th, with donation drop-off locations at both the Acton and Georgetown library branches. The 2025 – 2026 goal is to collectively fill 120 cribs with essential items for the MCRC Infant Food Bank, which expanded its services to Halton Hills in 2024 and now operates in both Acton and Georgetown.
“Every crib we help fill makes a meaningful difference,” says Beverley King, CEO and Chief Librarian of HHPL. “Each donated item helps keep a baby fed, clean, warm, and safe — and offers comfort to families who are facing real challenges.”
The Milton Public Library (MPL) has also been assisting with fundraising with the Fill a Crib for several years now.
High-need items include:
- diapers (sizes 4, 5 and 6)
- baby food and cereal
- infant formula
- baby wipes
- menstrual pads
All donated items with the HHPL will be distributed directly through the MCRC Infant Food Bank in Halton Hills.
Donations can be dropped off during regular library hours until January 15th. Residents can also make a monetary donation online through the MCRC Fill a Crib campaign here.
