The Town of Milton has approved its 2026 budget, finalizing $125.8 million in capital projects and $236.1 million in operating funds to support the needs of the growing community.
They say it aligns with Milton’s strategic plan by investing in people, technology, facilities, mobility, and planned growth. More than 130 capital projects are included, focused on building new infrastructure and renewing existing assets.
Operating funds will support fire protection, snow clearing, transit, parks and roads maintenance, culture and recreation programs, stormwater management, and Milton Public Library services.
In 2026, the Town’s share of the residential property tax bill will rise by 6.94%, with an estimated overall increase of 4.75% once Halton Region and the Province finalize their rates. For a home assessed at $600,000, the total tax bill is expected to be about $5,191.34, with Milton continuing to maintain some of the lowest property taxes in Ontario.
“The 2026 budget is a balanced plan that aligns our resources with our long-term vision of Milton as a safe, vibrant, and responsive community,” says Andrew Siltala, Chief Administrative Officer, Town of Milton. “This budget continues to demonstrate Milton’s commitment to fund the programs, services, and community infrastructure that residents value.”
