The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has delivered a second-quarter payment of $1,899,932 to the Town of Milton for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk.
The payment covers the period from July 1st to September 30th.
So far this fiscal year, Milton has received $3,913,096, and since the casino opened in August 1999, the town has collected more than $152.8 million in total. These revenues are distributed under the Municipality Contribution Agreement, which applies a consistent formula across Ontario’s land-based casinos.
“I am proud that we can provide local programs and improve the quality of life of our residents through the economic activity generated through revenue from Elements Casino Mohawk,” says Milton MPP Zee Hamid. “The people of Ontario benefit from OLG’s gaming revenues as 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in our province to support provincial priorities.”
Since 1994, host communities across Ontario have received almost $2.3 billion in non-tax gaming revenue. OLG notes that these funds contribute to local infrastructure, economic development, and job creation, with more than $2.9 billion in private sector investments in casino facilities across the province over the past nine years.
