The Town of Milton is preparing for winter with the return of its Windrow Removal Program, designed to support residents aged 65 and older as well as individuals with disabilities.
It provides a service that clears the snow piles left at the end of driveways after municipal road plowing.
The program will run from December 1st, 2025, to March 31st, 2026, with a registration fee of $69. Online registration will be available from Monday, October 20th to Friday, October 24th starting at 9:00 a.m., while in-person registration will take place on Friday, October 24th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Milton Leisure Centre, located at 1100 Main Street. Spots are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrants must bring valid identification, proof of age and address, and for those with disabilities, a doctor’s note.
Snow removal will begin only after a snowfall of 10 cm (four inches) or more, and once the Town has finished plowing all roads. Depending on the number of participants, it may take up to 36 hours for windrows to be cleared following road plowing.
