The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is inviting applications from community members with financial expertise and business experience to serve on its Audit Committee for a three-year term beginning January 1st, 2026 and ending December 31st, 2028.
The Audit Committee plays a vital role in supporting the Board of Trustees with governance, financial oversight, and accountability. Responsibilities include monitoring financial reporting, risk management, and the performance of internal and external auditors, as well as ensuring compliance with legislative obligations.
Applicants should have experience in accounting, senior financial management, or a related business field and a strong understanding of public sector accounting and auditing standards. To ensure independence, candidates cannot be current employees or officers of the HDSB or any other school board, nor have immediate family members employed by the Board.
The committee meets at least three times per year, typically at the J.W. Singleton Education Centre in Burlington, with some meetings held virtually.
Those interested are asked to submit a letter of interest and resume by 4:00 p.m. on November 7th, to:
