The Milton Menace are competing in the Governor’s Showcase in Niagara Falls this week.
On Monday, September 15th, they went up against the St. Michael’s Buzzers at the Gale Centre.
Newcomer Brody Leet opened the scoring in the first period, scoring his 1st of the OJHL season. He got some help from other newbie Josh Currie and Menace Captain Graeme MacAuley. It was 1-0 Milton after 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, the Buzzers would tie things up early. About nine minutes later, star forward Ivan Fabjan buried his 3rd of the year, assisted by Tristan Tremble and MacAuley. The Menace would get on the powerplay shortly after, with Gabriel Ciarallo taking advantage of the man advantage. Fabjan and Dean Deligeorgis were credited with the helpers. In the final minute of the middle frame, Alec Stewart got on the board for the Menace. His 2nd of the season was assisted by Ashtyn Pacheco and Brayden Turley. It was 4-1 Milton after two periods of play.
That’d be all, as the final period was more ugly than anything else with ten different penalties being issued across both teams.
The Menace turned to their all-star netminder once again. Austin McKillop stopped 18 of 19 shots, giving him the .947% save percentage.
Next up is a day game today at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls. They’ll take on the Haliburton County Huskies at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16th.
The Menace return home on Friday, September 19th to take on the Burlington Cougars at the Milton Memorial Arena. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
