Get ready to make a splash—with paws! The Oakville & Milton Humane Society (OMHS) is back with its ever-popular Doggie Dip, and this year it’s bigger than ever—expanding to two locations across the region.
Two Stops for Four-Legged Fun
-
Rotary Park, Milton – Saturday, September 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 100 Garden Lane.
Includes both a full-sized pool with stairs for effortless entry and exit, and a wading pool with a ramp—ideal for pups still getting their sea legs. -
Lions Pool, Oakville – Sunday, September 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 159 Felan Avenue.
A full-sized pool with stairs makes a comeback for round two of water-loving fun.
What to Expect
This tail-wagging festival goes beyond just swimming—homegrown vendor scene Barkin’ Market, powered by Toronto Dog Moms, brings treats, chic gear, and more. You’ll also find tennis balls aplenty (no need to bring your own), and plenty of volunteer helpers ready to assist dogs in and out of the water. Safety first: dogs swim off-leash once the announcer gives the green light—but must leash up afterward.
Must-Know Details
-
Registration required for pups to partake in swim times—but strolling through the market is free and open to all.
-
The Town of Oakville will manage chlorine levels carefully, and fresh drinking water will be available.
-
Dogs not big on swimming? No worries—there’s plenty to sniff and savour at the market, plus you’ll still catch all the community vibes.
Why Attend?
Doggie Dip is more than just a summer event; it’s a creative—and adorable—way to support the animals at OMHS. Swim sessions are fun for the pups, and the market helps raise awareness and funds for the shelter’s programs.
