Inside the Milton Velodrome, at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre
Milton’s Mattamy National Cycling Centre will once again welcome the world stage when it hosts the 2027 Tissot UCI Track World Cup.
From April 2nd – April 4th, 2027, Milton will be a major stop on the road to the 2028 Olympic Games, giving Canadian athletes a chance to compete in front of a home crowd.
Built for the 2015 Pan American Games, the velodrome is one of only two UCI-approved indoor cycling tracks in North America and has already hosted several world-class competitions, including the UCI Nations Cup and previous World Cup events. Cycling Canada’s acting CEO, Mathieu Boucher, said hosting the World Cup in Milton is a “powerful expression of Canadian unity—bringing together communities in support of our athletes and the sport we love.”
Athletes will compete in all six Olympic track cycling events: sprint, keirin, team sprint, team pursuit, omnium, and madison, as well as elimination races. Canadian sprinter Sarah Orban said the event is particularly meaningful, noting that it coincides with the start of the team’s Olympic qualifying campaign.
“It’s always special to race in front of a home crowd on our home track and extra special having friends and family in the stands cheering us on.”
Details on schedules, ticketing, volunteer registration, and webcast information will be announced in the months ahead.
