The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) played a key role in a major joint enforcement operation targeting unsafe commercial vehicles in Lincoln and West Lincoln.
The initiative was held Monday, June 9th, and was a collaboration between the HRPS, Niagara Regional Police, Hamilton Police, Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation, and the Town of Lincoln.
Prompted by growing public concerns over commercial vehicle traffic and safety violations, officers focused on drivers bypassing the Vineland Inspection Station. A total of 40 vehicles were pulled in for thorough inspections. Seventeen were taken off the road due to serious safety concerns, one vehicle was impounded, two sets of licence plates were seized, and 37 tickets were issued. One driver was arrested for driving while suspended.
Residents can report traffic concerns to the NRPS Traffic Enforcement Unit at 905-688-4111 (option 3, ext. 1025555) or email trafficcomplaints@niagarapolice.ca.
