A collision on Highway 401 eastbound near James Snow Parkway in Milton has claimed the life of a 40-year-old woman from Cambridge.
The crash happened on the morning Saturday, June 7th when her vehicle struck a guide rail and was then hit by an eastbound pickup truck.
A woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 6-year-old daughter, who was also in the vehicle, was taken to hospital with minor injuries. None of the four occupants in the pickup truck were injured.
A transport truck traveling westbound was also struck by debris from the initial collision. No injuries were reported from that vehicle.
The eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 were closed for several hours as the OPP conducted their investigation. It has since reopened.
