A Burlington man is among three motorists who were caught driving impaired through Guelph over the long weekend.
At roughly 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 18th, an officer was conducting speed enforcement near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue when he clocked a car travelling 68 km/h in a 40 km/h zone. While speaking to the driver the officer noted an odour of alcohol on his breath. After failing a roadside breath test he was arrested and taken to the station, where further tests confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 32-year-old Burlington man is charged with impaired driving.
Also arrested over the weekend was 26-year-old Guelph man and a 54-year-old Guelph man. Both were charged with impaired driving.
Each of the accused had their licences suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days. They were released with upcoming court dates.
