You can make a difference for an incoming international student.
The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) has partnered with the Canada Homestay Network (CHN) to find caring families interested in becoming homestay hosts. The idea is to share culture, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.
You’ll help a young person adjust to life in Canada while learning about their culture, language, and perspective. Many host families say the experience creates lifelong friendships and lasting memories.
To become a host, families must provide a private bedroom with a desk and closet, three meals a day, access to WiFi and laundry, and a supportive home environment. In return, CHN provides full training, 24/7 emergency support, and a monthly stipend to help with expenses.
Interested families can attend a virtual information session on Thursday, May 22nd at 7:00 p.m. or Saturday, May 24th at 10:00 a.m. to learn more about what’s involved.
The students are expected for the upcoming school year in September.
