Calling all authors, poets, and writers!
The Milton Public Library (MPL) is now accepting applications for its Open Mic event, part of the Women’s Fair on Friday, March 21st, from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. This is a unique opportunity for writers to share their work with the community and celebrate the power of storytelling.
Interested participants must submit an application by Friday, March 14th, at 11:59 p.m. Each applicant can upload one or two written works, with each piece ranging from 250 to 500 words. Due to high interest, only selected applicants will be contacted, with a finalized lineup announced by Wednesday, March 19th.
The Open Mic is a voluntary initiative, offering a platform for local talent to express themselves and connect with an engaged audience. While registration is not required for audience members, those interested can sign up online to receive event updates and an itinerary.
The Women’s Fair at MPL runs from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., featuring local organizations and businesses. From 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., attendees can also participate in an Art Hive session, where materials are provided for creative expression. The event will conclude with a conversation with Perdita Felicien—author, broadcaster, Olympian, and advocate—who will discuss her memoir, My Mother’s Daughter, followed by a book signing.
Don’t miss this chance to celebrate literature, creativity, and women’s achievements! Apply now and join an inspiring evening of storytelling and community engagement.
