The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says their search for Nana-Yaw Ashante has come to an end.
He was found and arrested without incident in Oshawa late on Saturday night.
With the announcement of the arrest, the HRPS thanked the public for their support in this investigation.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is on the lookout for a wanted man.
23-year-old Nana-Yaw Asante of Hamilton is currently wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police for multiple offences, including Attempted Murder with a Firearm. A warrant is being sought by HRPS for the offence of Unlawfully at Large after Asante attended Burlington Court on Thursday, October 10th for an unrelated matter and was released from custody in error.
The HRPS describe Asante as:
- male
- black
- 5’5” tall
- 145 pounds
- black hair and brown eyes
If observed by members of the public DO NOT APPROACH, call 911.
Asante is encouraged to retain counsel and contact HRPS.
