It was announced that Oasis are coming to Canada!
The Gallagher brothers will perform at the soon-to-be built Rogers Stadium at Downsview.
A lot of people have been very skeptical about this new 50,000 seat stadium in Toronto.
Will you go see a show there when it opens? Who would you like to see at this massive outdoor venue?
Let me know!

ICYMI – Mattamy Homes announces new development along Milton’s Britannia Road
More homes are on the way here in Milton. The area continues to grow under the provincial government’s mandate. Mattamy Homes has announced a new development that will be built along Britannia Road. The company says the priorities with these units are affordability and efficiency. Milton is a pretty expensive place to live, so they’re hoping to add some cheaper real estate opportunities. Whether they will actually be cheap compared to other towns and cities, we’ll have to wait and see! They’re expected to be available as early as 2027, with full completion by 2029. Condos for $500,000 in 2029? In this area? I’ll be shocked if that’s the case.
Daily WTF – Robotaxi stalled in front of VP Harris’ motorcade
Driverless vehicles are still working through the bugs. Vice President of the United States and Democratic Presidential Nominee Kamala Harris returned to San Francisco for a rally. She had a motorcade take her through the city to the venue, which apparently affected some of the local vehicles in unexpected ways. A Waymo robotaxi got stuck making a U-turn in front of the motorcade last week, causing even more traffic issues. It was unable to move after that, forcing a police officer to get into the vehicle to move it manually. The poor robot driver was so frazzled by the slightest inconvenience that it just shut down for the rest of the day. ROBOTS – THEY’RE JUST LIKE US!
Daily Did You Know – The history behind Milton’s Alder Gate and Watercress Way
This was delayed to today due to yesterday being the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Each week, Milton Historical Society President John Challinor discusses the origins of local street names. We have two streets named after nature this week! There will be two more street names next week.
Pumpkins After Dark is back in Milton
The spookiest time of the year is officially here! Happy October! Miltonians can embrace the month by heading to Country Heritage Park where Pumpkins After Dark has returned. If you’ve never been, there’s more than 10,000 hand carved pumpkins all over the park, as well as massive themed displays. New this year is a medieval dungeon maze, which should be a lot of fun. Get your tickets now! It runs until October 30th.
These are the most popular baby names in Canada
My wife and I are getting to the point in our relationship where a baby isn’t exactly off the table, and a big factor in that moment for all couples is NAMING the baby. I don’t know if you’re like this with your partner, but we have like to bounce potential names off each other to gauge interest. We’ve put together a list of potential baby names, ranked and all. One thing that helps each year is the annual list of most popular baby names from Stats Canada! Believe it or not, Olivia continues to be the top baby girl name. That’s now eight years in a row. Since 2003, the top baby girl name in Canada has either been Olivia or Emma, which is funny because Emma came in second this year once again. Charlotte rounded out the top three, which was the same as last year. For the boys, Noah took the top spot for the third straight year. It’s actually been in the top ten list for 19 years in a row now. It was followed by Liam once again, with Theodore climbing into the top three. Any of these names crack you and your partner’s baby name list? What’s your favourite baby name (that you’re willing to share) – let me know!
GOOD NEWS – This goat hopped into a Newfoundland marathon — and won a medal
Conception Bay held a half-marathon recently, with an unlikely participant finishing the race. A goat named Joshua somehow managed to find his way onto the path. It’s believed it happened near a local pumpkin patch, where 250 or so competitors ran by Joshua and he decided to keep up pace. He managed to go roughly four kilometres with the runners before his owners caught up to him. They decided to walk the last 500 metres so that he could cross the finish line. Mayor Darrin Bent was there with medals in hand, and he decided that Joshua did enough to earn himself the reward, place the medal around his neck. People said that Joshua really helped them get through that final stretch of the run, adding that they hope they see him again next year… and that is some good news!
Chris Martin reveals when Coldplay will retire from making music
For more than 20 years, Coldplay has been making music. They’ve managed to go from British rock band that idolizes U2 to finding their own niche in the pop world. Despite all the growth and change, it seems they’re calling it quits soon. Singer Chris Martin has announced that they have a few albums in them. After 12 albums though, that’s it. Looking at their discography, that likely means they have about ten more years. Coldplay releases their 10th studio album this Friday. After that, the countdown begins…
Man in Texas Reportedly Pays $4K To Smash Taylor Swift Guitar
You might hate something, but you probably don’t hate it enough to pay $4000 to break it. A man in Texas showed up at an auction recently. On the list of items was a guitar that was inspired and autographed by Taylor Swift. The man decided to bid four grand, and he won! He was called up on stage to collect the prize, and when he got up there, his first reaction was to destroy the instrument! Hammer in hand, he grabbed it by the neck and started smashing away. Hey, the money went to charity, so if he wants to express his hatred for Taylor by donating to charity, so be it.
Frances Bean, Kurt Cobain’s daughter, welcomes first child with Riley Hawk
The chosen one has officially been welcomed into this world. Riley Hawk is the son of Tony Hawk. He recently married the daughter of the late Kurt Cobain, Frances Bean Cobain, and the two have now given birth to their first child! Congrats to them! The two shared photos of their son, Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk. This little boy has Tony Hawk and Kurt Cobain as his grandfathers. This is the coolest child to ever exist. This is the Lisan al Gaib of the ’90s. This kid is going to do 900s on a halfpipe while playing a guitar in an old plaid shirt. I’m jealous of how much cooler this baby is than me, and he probably can’t even see shapes yet. Congrats to the happy couple, and I’m excited to see what Grandpa Tony Hawk looks like moving forward.
