It appears you CAN stop The Wagon…
REO Speedwagon announced their retirement from live performances, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
They’re one of my wife’s favourite bands, but she never got to see them live!
What band would you like to see live, either past or present?
Let me know!

The Milton Menace return home on Friday for a game against the Cobourg Cougars.

They will print customer resumes onto pizza boxes and deliver them to employers “in the toughest job market, New York City.” All you need to do to qualify is submit your resume to Pizza Hut. Rogers to become majority owner of MLSE after buying Bell’s stake
The company that provides your phone now also owns every single major sports team in Toronto. Rogers has purchased Bell’s stake in Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment. This bumps them up to 75% ownership of the Leafs, Raptors, Marlies, Argonauts, and Toronto FC. Rogers also owns the Toronto Blue Jays, hence why the stadium is now called the Rogers Centre instead of Skydome. Larry Tannenbaum still owns 20% of MLSE. This comes after he sold 5% to OMERS. He did that to launch the Toronto WNBA team, expected to start picking up in a year or so. But yeah, Toronto sports is now almost entirely Rogers-owned. Surely, nothing can go wrong there!
Gary Oldman Says He Could Play Dumbledore in Harry Potter TV Series
We’re itching closer and closer to the return of Harry Potter as HBO is rebooting the franchise with a new TV series. This will be a one for one adaptation of the books, with each season covering an individual edition of the series. Casting is underway for the characters, and a familiar face wants to be involved: Gary Oldman! He’s one of the greatest actors of his generation, and Harry Potter fans will remember his portrayal of Sirius Black in the movies. During a recent interview, with the show now being made, he was asked about his time working on the films. He said that he wish Sirius got more screen time, saying he showed up and left very quickly. But would he return to the Wizarding World in the show? Oldman says, he’d love to be involved, especially now as the head honcho of Hogwarts, Professor Albus Dumbledore. The other original cast members have also done some teasing about wanting to be involved, whether it’s Daniel Radcliffe, Matthew Lewis or Jason Isaacs. We’ll see what happens! The Harry Potter HBO series currently has a 2026 release date.
Portland joins Toronto as WNBA expansion team in 2026
Toronto will not be alone when they enter the WNBA, as the league has announced that Portland will join them as an expansion team in 2026. Toronto has been hailed as the 14th team in the league, and Portland will be team #15. The league is adding Golden State (California) as a team next year, and then Toronto and Portland will come in as a tag team, creating a bunch of jobs in women’s sports. Pretty cool! You can actually buy merch for the Toronto team. The push notification came through last night. So, if you want to start cheering on women’s professional basketball across the GTA, you can get shirts on the WNBA website and app. No word on what the team name will be! I’m personally hoping for Toronto Towers, just for the alliteration. We’ll see!
GOOD NEWS – Home at last: couple reunited with missing dog after three years
How long could you go without your dog? For dog owners, the little pup is part of the family. The house feels empty when they’re not there. For Josh Burns and his partner Shellee, their cocker spaniel was stolen from their home three years ago. The UK couple search and searched and searched, but there was no sign that Belle would ever return. That was until last week. Burns received a call from a dog shelter about 50 miles away. It seems that Belle had run away from wherever she had gone to, and when she was found by someone and brought in, the microchip led back to Josh and Shellee. After three long years, Belle was home again… And that is some good news!
Miley Cyrus sued over allegations her hit song ‘Flowers’ copied a Bruno Mars song
It seems Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars will be going to court against each other. A lawsuit has been filed after allegations that Cyrus’ hit single ‘Flowers’ copied one of Mars’ songs. It seems the studio that produced ‘When I Was Your Man’ by Bruno Mars feels that Miley Cyrus and her team copied numerous melodic, harmonic, and lyrical elements to make ‘Flowers’. We actually just talked about this earlier this week with Dua Lipa being sued, but these lawsuits happen all the time. Thing is, they don’t usually involved two MASSIVE celebrities. We’ll see if this ends up getting ugly. If anything, it’s possible that this is just a marketing ploy to get people back into listening to both songs again… No, big music studios would never stoop so low… NEVER!
Roundness: A Body Shape to Be Feared?
For years and years, the Body Mass Index has been the go-to for measuring ones fitness levels. Thing is, if you’ve ever worked out and then followed BMI, you know that it’s by no means a perfect science. It uses height and weight to create a number. That number is then measured on a scale, and if it’s above certain levels, then you fall into certain categories. Thing is, it doesn’t count for muscle mass or anything. Every single time I’ve been measured for BMI, I’m listed under morbidly obese… If you’ve ever met me, you’d laugh at that! So, a new health screening tool has been created and it aims to tackle a different perspective: Body Roundness Index. This new measuring tool acknowledges that the weight on the scale is not the end all be all when it comes to health. It will measure someone’s body shape to categorize their health. It’s not a perfect measurement tool, as it likely won’t factor in context, but people online have noted that it’s better than BMI. Body Roundness Index: potentially coming to a doctor’s office near you!
