Tomorrow is Friday the 13th!
The day is considered to be the unluckiest day, happening multiple times a year. It joins a list of superstitions that people still follow to this day. That list includes things like “don’t cross a black cat,” or “never say ‘good luck’ to a performer,” or “never walk underneath a ladder.” There’s a bunch!
Are you a superstitious person? Maybe a little ‘stitious? Which ones do you believe in?
Let me know!

Daily WTF – Ontario woman charged with assault with a weapon after neighbour sprayed with water gun
You might wanna be careful with who you spray! A woman in Simcoe, Ontario is facing an assault charge after she squirted her neighbour with a water gun. It happened at a backyard barbecue over the summer. The woman was chasing some kids around with the water gun, but she couldn’t quite figure out how it worked. She says that she was fiddling with it and accidentally sprayed her neighbour. Thing is, this neighbour was seriously offended by this and called the police to press charges. According to the arrested woman, the police officer didn’t even listen to her side of the story. She was then put on administrative leave at her job with the school board. So, the woman went public with the story and it’s now going to court. All over a water gun… What a world!

MTV VMAs 2024: See the Complete Winners List
The MTV Video Music Awards were held last night! At one point, this show was almost as big as the Grammy’s. This year had a bunch of drama going into it, with celebrity romances, break-ups, and rivalries all being held in one place. Taylor Swift was the top dog heading into the night with 12 nominations. She left as the ‘Artist of the Year’, with the ‘Video of the Year’ for Fortnight alongside Post Malone. They also received Best Collaboration and ‘Song of the Summer’ for the song. I could go on forever listing off the awards Taylor won. Other winners included Chappell Roan for ‘Best New Artist’ and Sabrina Carpenter had the ‘Song of the Year’ with Espresso. It doesn’t seem like anyone got into a fight on the red carpet, and no one got slapped while presenting, so all in all, probably a win for the VMAs!
Jon Bon Jovi… Take My Hand, We’ll Make It, I Swear… Convinces Woman Not To Jump Off Bridge
A woman in Nashville was not in a good place. She found herself on the side of a bridge, prepared to leap off and plummet to the water below, likely to her death. That’s when a familiar voice called to her. This wasn’t a friend of hers, and it definitely wasn’t family… It was Jon Bon Jovi. The legendary rock star happened to be in the city filming a music video. He was passing by when he noticed the woman. According to reports, Bon Jovi came up to her slowly and offered some words of wisdom. It seemed to work as she climbed back over the railing. There’s video of it! Way to go Jon Bon Jovi. They might need to get him on the negotiations team with the local police department.
Campbell wants to say goodbye to the ‘soup’ in its name
One of the most popular soup brands in the world is going through a name change. Campbell’s Soup will no longer go by that name. They will now be referred to as Campbell’s Co. It seems this decision comes after they’ve branched out from just soup. They’ve added brands like Prego sauce and Goldfish crackers. It’s been 102 years since they’ve last changed their name, so maybe it’s been a long time coming. One of my friends, her maiden name is Campbell. She was a bit of a pathological liar growing up, and my favourite one that she would tell people was that her parents DROWNED and she was adopted by the Campbell family, the very same that own the soup company. I’d imagine she had some say in this new name change.
GOOD NEWS – Flavor Flav Celebrates After Red Lobster Announces It Is Exiting Bankruptcy
Months ago, we talked about how rapper Flavor Flav was trying his best to keep Red Lobster from going out of business. The company had filed for bankruptcy, with many reports saying it’s in large part due to their bottomless shrimp. They were simply price gouging themselves over the years. Well, Flav took to social media to urge people to help save the company, talking up the cheddar biscuits. He even took his entire family there and ordered every single item off the menu before posting it online. As of this week, Red Lobster has announced it is exiting bankruptcy and they will not go out of business. Flavor Flav helped saved Red Lobster… AND THAT, is some good news!
Canada’s 2024 Fall Forecast: Will autumn end with a free fall into winter?
We have just over a week until summer officially comes to an end and autumn officially starts. With fall around the corner, The Weather Network has released their official Fall Forecast. They say the heat this week is likely going to be the norm! Residents in October should expect a grand finale of summer weather, before getting a warmer than usual October. November and December then look to bring some of the stormy weather we have come to expect. So, maybe hold off on the big puffy coats for a couple of months, and break-in some of those lighter jackets.
Apple’s new AirPods are also hearing aids
If you’re having trouble hearing but aren’t yet ready to step in and get a hearing aid, Apple might have you covered! The tech company held their annual product launch event recently. Along with the brand new iPhone, they also showed off other tech items, including their brand new AirPods. These bluetooth earbuds have people talking (and listening) because they can also be used as medical grade hearing aids! Experts are saying the headphones could potentially save people thousands of dollars, while also providing other advantages. Would you ever consider using AirPods over a more well known medical device company? Let me know!
