More and more people are using artificial intelligence on a daily basis.
The most common ones have been around for a while: voice assistants like Siri and Alexa. It’s funny, I always thank AI and say “please” when I ask for anything. This has me asking the question:
Are you polite to Siri, Alexa, Google, etc.? What about other AI like ChatGPT or Google Gemini?

ICYMI – Project Safe Start to begin next week around Halton
You’ll see more police cars around Milton the next couple of weeks. The start of school is next week, and in preparation of that, the Halton Police have launched ‘Project Safe Start’. The two week long campaign has police officers camp out in school zones, looking for dangerous, impaired, or distracted drivers. Remember to drive slow, keep your eyes on the road, and don’t drive while under the influence. The campaign ends on September 6th.
Daily WTF – Environmental group calls for RFK Jr. to be investigated for reportedly sawing off whale head
I think being born insanely rich does something to your brain. A great example of that is Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has repeatedly been in the news for strange reasons. After he officially dropped out of the US Presidency race, he’s actually making headlines for another reason. An environmental group is demanding the nephew of JFK to be investigated for reportedly sawing off the head of a whale. His daughter talked about him doing this in an interview back in 2012 that has now resurfaced. She claims they found a dead whale on the beach, and he used a chainsaw to cut its head off, and then drove five hours home with it strapped to the roof of his car, like a buck that he wants to mount on the wall. Turns out, if he did actually do that, it’s very illegal because the whale was most likely a protected species. So, yeah, we’ll see with RFK Jr. faces any consequences for this…
Daily Did You Know – Milton Menace looking for their next anthem singer
If you have the voice of an angel, or you know someone who does, then the Milton Menace want to hear from you! Ahead of the 2024-2025 OJHL season, the Menace are looking for their next anthem singer. If you feel like you could do the job, you’re asked to DM the team on Instagram with an audition video of you singing the Canadian anthem. Applications are due by this weekend, with the winner being selected next week. The first home game is scheduled for September 6th.
Ex-Jay Danny Jansen becomes 1st in MLB history to play in same game for both teams
Former Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen is going into the Hall of Fame, just not in the traditional sense. Yesterday was a historical day in baseball. You see, several months ago, the Jays played the Boston Red Sox. The game ended up being suspended after one inning due to rain. In the time since, Jansen was traded to Boston, and the suspended game resumed yesterday with the catcher now playing for the other team. That meant that he became the first player ever to split time between two teams in the same baseball game. Good news: The Jays spoiled the fun, winning 4-1 in extra innings. They also played the Red Sox again later that night, winning that game as well. Don’t look now, but the Jays have been rolling! There’s still a month left in the season… We’ll see if they make it interesting!
Justin and Hailey Bieber welcome 1st child together
Canada’s teen heartthrob is officially a dad! Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey welcomed their first child together. They posted a picture of the baby boy on social media, showing just his little foot. Jack Blues Bieber, named after Justin’s father. Congrats to the Biebers, and it seems Puslinch has a new temporary resident!
Apple’s iPhone 16 launch event is set for September
I’ve had a brand new phone for a few months now. It’s been a nice experience, but things are about to get worse as Apple has announced their launch event for their latest iPhone. Their big annual showcase is scheduled for September 9th at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park. Expect Apple to stream the event as they show off all their new tech, including the iPhone 16. It’s been a known issue (conspiracy theory?) that whenever Apple debuts a new iPhone, their old models suddenly start to slow down. That means I have about two weeks of appreciating my super fast and sleek iPhone 15… Very soon I’ll be annoyed and frustrated…
GOOD NEWS – Volunteers record bee biodiversity and discover new species in Pennsylvania
There’s been a movement the last decade or two to save the bees. The little pollinators play a big role in our precious ecosystem, and all the building, developing, and spraying that we do has hampered their numbers quite a bit. Thing is, they seem to be pretty resilient! Case in point: people are finding new species of bees! That’s according to Penn State, who say the bees have somehow appeared in new areas, particularly commonwealth countries, and are helping with the ecosystem… And that is some good news!
Oasis Reunion: Liam and Noel Gallagher Announce First Concerts in Over 15 Years
And after all, you’re my Wonderwall! Today is a big day for music as the boys of Oasis have announced a reunion tour. Back in 2009, Liam and Noel Gallagher got into a fist fight backstage at a show in Paris, and the two have hated each other ever since. It appears as though the brothers have put that hatred aside to make some money, as Oasis will be going on tour next year. They’ll play 14 shows across the UK next summer, including Wembley Stadium and stops in Dublin and Cardiff. If you want to be a part of the history, tickets go on sale this weekend!
There’s Incredible News About ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4
It seems this week is a big one for reunions revolving groups in England. On top of Oasis getting back together, it appears as though Ted Lasso is coming back for a 4th season. The show came to an end last year with its 3rd season. The creators said they had just three seasons worth of content, and wouldn’t go further unless they had the right stories to tell. Well, it seems they found those stories, as it’s being reportedly that Ted Lasso is returning for another season on Apple TV Plus. Three cast members have already been confirmed: Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. For those who don’t know the actor names but remember the characters, that’d be: Rebecca, Roy Kent, and Higgins. Some other actors might not return to the show due to scheduling conflicts. No official timeline has been shared, but it could be released as early as next year!
