People online are talking about lazy days.
I wanna know, whether you have kids or not:
How often do you take a lazy day?
As in, a day that you decide you’re not doing anything. No chores, no exercise, maybe even mail it in at work. How often?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – A new local indie duo is looking to break through the music scene
We had D1do and Bex in studio this week to discuss their new single, ‘THiNKiN’ TWiCE’. They talked about pairing up, making the song, and the production of the music video.
Daily WTF – Taylor Swift concerts in Vienna canceled after Austrian police say foiled terrorist plot targeted shows
Taylor Swift has canceled her shows in Vienna, Austria, and the reason why is not a fun one. Austrian police say ISIS-connected terrorists were planning to strike the venue during the show. People have compared the potential incident to what actually happened at the Manchester Arena during an Ariana Grande concert, where 22 people were killed by a bomb and more than 1000 were injured. All tickets are being refunded automatically. It’s a shame for the fans in Vienna who were looking forward for months, if not years, for these concerts, but safety is pretty important here. Hopefully Taylor can go back to Austria at a later date and help make up for this mess, even if it’s not her fault.

All Hands on Deck Food Drive returns to John’s No Frills next week
In exactly one week, we’ll be LIVE ON LOCATION at John’s No Frills for our 6th annual ‘All Hands on Deck’ food drive. I’ve been a part of every single one, and am up pumped to be a part of another! We’re collecting food donations for Food4Kids Halton, who are helping ensure that no child across the region goes hungry. John himself (of John’s No Frills) has made things easy by packaging together $5 grab bags at all cash registers. Pay for those, bring them to us outside, and they’ll go right in the back of the big Wallace Chevrolet truck. The goal is to fill that thing as many times as possible. We’ll be there from 10am to 3pm on Thursday, August 15th. If you can’t make it, stop by John’s No Frills between now and then and you can round up your grocery total to make a donation directly to Food4Kids Halton. That said, I hope we see you there!
Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Fugees Cancel U.S. Tour Three Days Before Kickoff
After a long build up, it appears as though Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Fugees are canceling their tour. It was set to kick of this weekend with a show in Tampa, Florida. Hill gave an explanation saying it boils down to specific coverage done in North America about the group and the tour, citing “sensationalism and click baiting headlines.” It’s a shame, because the Fugees have been off and on over the last 25+ years. Hill, Wyclef, Pras announced the reunion tour a few years ago, but kept delaying it because of COVID. Now, in 2024, the thing is just DONE. Full refunds are being given up. We’ll see if anything gets reannounced, because if they’re coming to Toronto, I’ll be there!
GOOD NEWS – Farmers honor ‘Peanuts’ creator Charles M. Schulz with corn mazes across US and in Canada
If you’re flying over a corn field in Canada or the US, you might see something interesting. Farmers across North America are banding together to honour the creator of ‘Peanuts’ Charles M. Schulz. Corn mazes are being made this summer and fall to mark the 75th anniversary of the popular comic strip. More than 80 farms are taking part, including one in Caledon. If you head to Caledon, you’ll be able to wander through the maze, that just happens to be shaped like Snoopy, among other things. Roughly 2 million people are expected to take part… And that is some good news!
Canada’s Evan Dunfee tweets mid-competition in Olympic race walk
You’ve heard of cakewalks, but for Canada’s Evan Dunfee, his Olympic speed walk competition was something else. The man went viral in Canada this week when he decided to tweet mid-race. Now, he wasn’t actually walking when this happened. It was part of a mixed-medley, and Dunfee had some spare time while his partner, Olivia Lundman, did her part. So, he pulled out his phone and posted on X. “Full. [expletive]. Send. Canadian record through 10km. Let’s see what I got for another 10.” A lot of confidence! They finished 20th out of 25 teams. Oh well, they still do great and the moment is worth it. Full send!
“Tadpole Water” Is The New Gen Z Weight Loss Trend Going Viral Online, Here’s What It Is
Would you drink ‘tadpole water’? It’s not what you think it is. The latest Gen Z weight loss trend has people mixing warm water, chia seeds, and a squirt of lemon. It’s believed the concoction helps burn excess fat, helps with bloating, and improves gut health. It doesn’t sound like it tastes nice, as one review described the texture and taste as “funky.” That said, she added that if it helps, it helps, and that she lost a pound a day for three straight days. Chia seeds, water, and a bit of lemon… Tadpole water! Might as well give it a taste test.
