Where should I get lunch today?
Every Friday, Drew and I take part in what we have called “Foodie Friday.” Essentially, we eat out at local restaurants to try their menu.
Any local favourites we should try??? The more local the better!
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?

Daily WTF – Kevin Bacon Spent a Day as a Regular Person: “I Was Like, This Sucks”
When you’re a super famous actor, you can imagine you get treated pretty well. Kevin Bacon daydreamed about what life would be like as a regular person. He’s been acting since the 70s, so it’s been a longtime for him since he was able to stroll down the street without a care in the world. The actor decided to don a disguise recently. Fake teeth, fake nose, glasses. You wouldn’t be able to tell it was THE Kevin Bacon. He tested out this disguise at a popular mall in Los Angeles that is always filled with tourists. Turns out, he hated not being Kevin Bacon. His exact words were, “People were kind of pushing past me, not being nice. Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to wait in line to, I don’t know, buy a coffee or whatever. I was like, This sucks. I want to go back to being famous.” Kevin Bacon and I have something in common: we both don’t like not being Kevin Bacon.
Daily Did You Know – Milton’s Crawford Lake to install holographic immersive experience
Crawford Lake Conservation Area is getting a futuristic new feature. It was announced on Wednesday that funding will be going to six projects in Halton, Hamilton, and surrounding areas. That includes $180,000 to Crawford Lake to install a holographic immersive experience at their Visitor Centre. It will open in the Fall of 2025.
Thousands of LCBO workers begin strike after talks break down
If you’re looking to get drinks for the weekend, you’ll have to remove the LCBO off your list of destinations. As of midnight, workers at the provincial liquor store have gone on strike. This was long rumoured to be the case as union talks with the province were going south the last few weeks. Last night was the deadline, and it was not met in time. Over 9000 workers will be on the picket line, with the union representatives calling this ‘Doug Ford’s Dry Summer’. Sometimes these strikes last a day, and sometimes they last a lot longer. We’ll see how long this one lasts, but hopefully the workers get what they’re looking for. I’ll always be pro-worker in this situation. You know, Rage Against The Machine, and whatnot.
Eddie Murphy’s son is dating Martin Lawrence’s daughter
Every once in a while, the children of celebrities will pair off and it’s almost always fascinating. The son of Tony Hawk is married to the daughter of Kurt Cobain. Their future kid is probably gonna rule so hard. Another case of this is the fact that Eddie Murphy’s son is currently dating Martin Lawrence’s daughter. As someone who grew up watching both comedians, this has me excited. Murphy was asked about his son’s relationship and said, “Our gene pool is gonna make this funny baby.” Hard to argue against this one. It’s like when two Olympic athletes get together to make a super athlete child. If this potential baby isn’t the Tiger Woods of comedy, then what are we doing here?
GOOD NEWS – Ukraine receives nearly 6,000 solar panels to power hospitals
Ukraine remains under attack from Russia. With the war ongoing, the country is need of whatever help they can get. Through an agreement with the European Commission, Ukraine has received 5,876 solar panels to help power hospitals across the country. It’s believed that over time, Ukraine will get even more panels. These will literally save lives, and that’s some good news!
Pink cancels concert due to health issue: ‘Unable to continue with the show’
Singer Pink is a year into her Summer Carnival tour, and it seems the shows are being put on hold. She already had to cancel a show in Switzerland on Wednesday at the order of her doctor. All purchased tickets were refunded. It’s not known what kind of illness she’s currently dealing with, or how long it will continue to affect her tour. She’s supposed to be in Copenhagen tomorrow night, and it’s unclear if that show will also be cancelled. Fingers crossed she’s okay and everything gets back to normal soon.
Diddy Selling L.A. House For $70M After Federal Raid
2024 has not been kind to Diddy. The rapper is facing a lot of allegations, some met with video evidence. His LA mansion was raided earlier this year, making headline news as he was accused of sex trafficking and other offences. He’s deleted his social media. It was reported that he left LA for Miami, and proof of that is him putting his freshly raided LA mansion up for sale. He bought the house for $40 million back in 2014. Ten years later, this ‘bad boy’ is now on the market for $70 million. Whether he gets that kind of money for it, we’ll see! Imagine buying a house for $70 million? Imagine having that kind of money! Heck, imagine buying a house in 2024? Imagine having that kind of money!
