As of yesterday, Christmas is six months away!
A recent survey had 38% of shoppers starting their holiday purchasing before November, with the number jumping the closer it got to the big day. It also found that people are starting their holiday shopping earlier and earlier as the years go on. Some stores are taking advantage of this, with Christmas deals going up as early as next month!
Have you started your shopping already?
When do you typically start your holiday shopping?

GOOD NEWS – Ice Cream Van Driver Serves Treats To Drivers Stuck In Traffic Jam
A busy British highway got a little busier recently as a traffic jam brought everyone to a halt. Drivers were barely moving for hours on one of the hottest days of the year. That’s when people noticed an oasis off in the distance. Also stuck on the highway with them was an ice cream truck. People got out of their cars and queued up along the highway, all buying themselves a refreshing treat to battle the heat. It made the wait go by faster, and a local entrepreneur received some unexpected business… And that’s some good news!
‘The Notebook’ star Gena Rowlands’ Alzheimer’s diagnosis revealed on movie’s 20th anniversary
It’s been 20 years since ‘The Notebook’ movie came out. It helped establish Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as household names for the next two decades. However, an aspect of the film is happening in real life. In a strange coincidence, actor Gena Rowlands is mimicking the fate of the character she played in the movie. SPOILER ALERT: Rowlands played an older version of Rachel McAdams character, Allie, who listens to her own personal love story read by her husband every single day. That’s because Allie is suffering from a severe case of Alzheimer’s. It’s come out that Rowlands is now battling the disease herself. At 94-years-old, it’s reported that she has full dementia. Her mother had actually Alzheimer’s, which Rowlands said made playing Allie so hard for her. If you haven’t seen The Notebook, highly recommend it. Here’s hoping Rowlands’ family are doing okay, because speaking from experience with my grandfather, Alzheimer’s is awful.
This Woman Just Found Out That Her Husband Has Been Purposely Tightening All Of Her Jar Lids For The Last Five Years. Now, She’s Divorcing Him For Gaslighting Her
Sometimes, it’s a lot of little things that can lead to the ending of a relationship. For one woman who has blown up online, it’s her husband’s gaslighting that was the final straw. She took to Reddit to share the story of how she had trouble opening the jars in her house. For five years, she had issues with how tight these jars were sealed. Eventually, she discovered the reason why is all because of her husband. The man was (secretly) intentionally over-tightening the lids on these jars, with his reasoning being that it helps keep whatever is inside fresher. He even lied about doing it when asked over the years! After all those years, this led to a full blown mental breakdown, kicking and screaming. The man was sick for a week, and while he was gone, she realized that every single jar wasn’t as tight anymore. She filed for a divorce shortly after. The woman shared the story online, and I want to hear from you: do you think she’s overreacting for ending the relationship over this – or do you think the husband is at-fault for lying about something so small that caused so many issues over the years? Let me know!
The Psychology Behind ‘Millennial Gray’ Homes
If you are of a certain age, you likely have a lot of grey in your home. It’s a décor style known as ‘Millennial Grey’. It’s the absence of colour in a home, and it’s a continuous trend among people in their thirties and forties. Many Gen Zers have called out the design choice, teasing their older peers for the lack of pop and creativity. Researchers have dove into why Millennial Grey has become a thing, and it’s all about psychology. These experts say the reason why comes down to childhoods. For many Millennials, they grew up in very bright and colourful homes. The ’80s and ’90s were famous for colour experimenting for interior designs. As you’d expect, people who grew up in colourful homes have leaned towards a lack of colourful, with various shades of grey being the go-to for many homes these days. How much grey do you have in your home? I’d hate to admit it, but my wife and I have our fair share… which we might need to revise soon enough.
