If you could go back to school for anything, what would you want to study?
We’ve covered a few older people who went back to school to get a degree. These are people deciding in their 60s, 70s, 80s to get some form of post-secondary education.
Let’s say you get the chance to go to college/university, what would you take? Any career you’d like to take a stab at?
Let me know!

What else did we talk about this morning?
ICYMI – A Milton teacher won big on The Price is Right
Congrats to Ryan Sideris, a Milton high school teacher who won roughly $50,000 worth of prizes on The Price is Right. He went down over March Break with his mom to see California, and the pair decided to get tickets to see the show live. Sideris was interviewed by the crew on the show, and managed to get himself on the show. That episode has finally aired, and so Sideris can talk all about his big win!
Daily WTF – King’s medal for twin who fought crocodile off sister
What would you do for your sibling? Would you fight off a crocodile? That’s what Georgia Laurie from the UK did while in Mexico for a vacation with her twin sister. The croc attacked her sister, and Laurie decided the best course of action was to punch it over and over in the face. After a few blows, the croc let go and swam away. Her twin sister suffered sepsis from the attack and was placed in a medically induced coma. She has now recovered, and Laurie has received a King’s medal for her bravery. Good for her!

Meryl Streep returns, and is joined this time around by Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Kumail Nanjiani, Molly Shannon and Zach Galifianakis. It’s a big cast, possibly their biggest cast yet! ‘SOUR’ by Olivia Rodrigo becomes the most streamed female album on Spotify
Olivia Rodrigo continues her run as one of the best young names in pop music with a pretty impressive feat! Her debut album, ‘SOUR’, has become the most streamed female album on Spotify. It surpassed Dua Lipa’s debut album with more than 12 billion streams. The album came out in 2021 over the pandemic, and with the help of singles like ‘Drivers License’, ‘Deja Vu’, and ‘Good 4 U’, it launched Rodrigo into superstardom. The album has actually seen a bump the last few weeks, as Sabrina Carpenter has topped the charts with her own single, ‘Espresso’… And if you didn’t know, Carpenter is the “other woman” in ‘Drivers License’. Drama: it helps sell albums!
‘Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 2
What a week for television! The most expensive television show of all time, ‘Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’, is officially back with a new season. The trailer for Season 2 was released on Tuesday, which has people VERY excited about what’s next. The Lord of the Rings prequel series was a long time coming for Amazon, and it cost them around $1 billion altogether to make the show. Season 1 was somewhat well received, but boy did it have one heck of a cliffhanger. Season 2 for The Rings of Power is expected for August 29th on Amazon Prime Video – I’m pumped!

What were you doing at ten-years-old? For Dorothy Jean Tillman II, she was entering college… Yes, at ten-years-old, she was starting post-secondary school. If that sounds outrageous, well, buckle up. Tillman has officially completed her doctoral degree and is graduating at the age of 17. She’s a literal doctor for integrated behavioral health before becoming an adult! What comes after graduation? She says she’d like to be a teenager for a bit, and figure out what’s next later on. Live life, you know? She’s got all the time in the world… And that’s some good news!
The Golden Bachelorette Names The Golden Bachelor’s Joan Vassos as Lead
We officially have our first-ever ‘Golden Bachelorette’! 61-year-old Joan Vassos has been chosen as the lead. This comes following her appearance on the first-ever ‘Golden Bachelor’ show. She was actually an early favourite in the show, but she left after three weeks to help her daughter, who had just given birth. She’ll now be the Belle of the Ball, with 20+ senior men aiming for her heart. Vassos herself is no stranger to love! She and her husband were together for 32 years, having four kids together. He passed away from cancer in 2021, and she’s hoping to find love again. The first season of The Golden Bachelorette comes out this fall.
‘Inappropriate’ behavior shuts down Dublin to New York City portal
So, we spoke earlier this week about the portal between New York City and Dublin. The giant, circular video screen on the streets of both cities gave residents the chance to connect. Turns out, people are very inappropriate in front of video cameras, even in public. The organizers behind the initiative have decided to shut it down, citing behaviour issues as the reason why. Videos of people flashing each other went viral online, so this isn’t really a surprise. It’s possible the project will reopen later this week, but for now, everybody is in timeout. Imagine telling two entire cities to sit in the corner and think about what they did? Hilarious!
