A Milton woman is celebrating after winning the lottery!
Rakhee Bhandari won $77,192.60 in the April 9th LOTTO MAX draw.
The public service worker says she originally thought she won a smaller prize.
“I was checking my tickets on the OLG app and thought I won $77. I was so excited,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I decided to double check my ticket on the ticket checker and that’s when I saw the prize amount. I froze! I feel like I stood there for five minutes telling myself, ‘You have to move!’ I was barely able to speak. It was a shocking moment.”
Reflecting on her winning moment, Rakhee expressed just how much this win means to her.
“I am filled with joy and gratitude. I am so blessed to have won and I am so thankful.”
She plans to take her time and figure out what comes next.
“I will invest for the future, and I plan on celebrating with family tonight over my favorite meal.”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Circle K on Pleasant Boulevard in Toronto.
