The Town of Milton is looking for feedback on its Administrative Penalty System (APS) for dispute resolution of all municipal regulatory By-laws.
APS is the current process that manages disputes of parking by-law infractions. The Town says it’s done in a manner that is fair, effective, and efficient, while enhancing customer service.
Expanding the APS program will transfer By-law disputes from the provincial offences courtroom to the municipality through the use of Screening and Hearing Officers who have the authority to modify, cancel, affirm and extend time to pay for penalties. This process helps to reduce congestion in the Provincial Offences court system and also provides a more local and accessible way for residents to resolve disputes.
Click here to share your thoughts on the APS expansion. The deadline is Thursday, May 2nd.
