A Milton man is among two suspects arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle from a residence in Ajax.
On Monday, March 11th, at roughly 1:30 a.m., Durham Police responded to a vehicle theft in the area of Snowling Drive and Rushworth Drive. The victim reported two males attempting to steal his vehicle from his driveway. They confronted the suspects, who fled the area in a red vehicle.
Police were able to locate the suspect vehicle as it drove away from the area and followed it. The suspect vehicle was driving at excessive speeds causing it to lose control and collide with a road sign nearby. Officers checked the vehicle and confirmed the suspects had fled the on foot.
Police, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, searched the area and located the two suspects a short distance away. They were both taken into custody without incident.
20-year-old Hussein Alibrahim of Milton is charged with:
- Attempt Theft Over $5000
- Mischief Under $5000
26-year-old Oday Nomery of No Fixed Address is charged with:
- Attempt Theft Over $5000
- Mischief Under $5000
- Obstruct Peace Officer
Both parties were held for a bail hearing.
