How lucky are you willing to be?
A study out of the UK covered luck, both good and bad. 25% of respondents have stepped in dog poop. 24% have spilled food all over themselves. Other unlucky events include being splashed by a car driving through a puddle, and losing competitions.
The most common unlucky event listed was a bird pooping on people, with 26% of respondents admitting to it. Funny enough, 37% of people said they’d welcome that one because they view it as GOOD luck.
Would you be willing to serve as target practice for the birds? What’s the luckiest you’ve ever been?
Let me know!

ICYMI – Miracle on Main Street raises more than $1.1 million in 2023
It was a big 2023 for the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation. Their Miracle on Main Street events were able to bring in $1.1 million in donations. That’s through the Brampton and Milton events, as well as sponsorships. We can expect Miracle on Main to return to Downtown Milton in December!
Daily WTF – Hackers change Spokane traffic sign to warn of raccoons
You might have a view of hackers that stems from movies in the 1990s. Long trench coats, hiding in a dark room with all kinds of computer screens, typing away at the speed of light to hack into the mainframe to topple some sort of unfair government system. Hey, maybe those hackers exist, but sometimes a hacker is just breaking into an electronic road sign to warn people about angry raccoons. Spokane officials say their orange construction sign was hacked, and the raccoon message got a chuckle out of motorists. They’re still looking for the culprit, which might take time considering – well, all the angry raccoons.
Fundraising Easter concert being held at Milton church
There’s an event going on in Milton later this month. The Milton Choristers will hold an Easter-themed concert. Admission is technically free, but they’re asking attendees to bring donations for the local food bank. It’ll be on March 26th at Knox Presbyterian Church on Main Street.
Here’s how the Milton real estate market has changed since 2013
If you’re struggling to find a home at a reasonable price in Milton, you’re not alone! Data from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation has covered just how much the real estate market across Ontario municipalities has changed over the last decade. Since 2013, we’ve seen the number of properties worth less than $500,000 plummet from 59% down to just 0.3%. The majority of homes are now worth more than $1 million, doubling over the span of ten years. Here I am wishing I bought a home in 2008 instead of starting high school. How foolish was I…
‘Nightmare’ Willy Wonka Experience Leaves Children in Tears
There are some serious grifters out there. Willy Wonka has been a film property that has seemingly stood the test of time. The original with Gene Wilder stands out as a classic, and many younger millennials and Gen Zers have fond memories of the Johnny Depp film. Timothée Chalamet has since taken on the mantle, and the prequel movie was a massive success last year. This led to an event held in Glasgow, Scotland called the ‘Willy Wonka Experience’. It was set to be an immersive event for children of the area to taste chocolate and see the wonders of the fictitious Wonka Factory. Turns out, it was horrible. The whole event was held in what seemed like an abandoned warehouse, with actors hired days before the event to portray an original story about ‘The Unknown’ – an evil chocolate maker who lives in the walls – trying to disrupt Wonka’s chocolate making. The story was reportedly entirely written by AI, and the posters attracting the families to the event were also done by AI – with the event looking nothing like what was promised. Children didn’t get chocolate, instead the parents paid $40 a ticket for one jelly bean and a quarter cup of store brand lemonade. It was so bad the police were called… What a mess!
Curses! Canadians swear more than Americans?
How’s your potty mouth doing? Turns out, you might swear more than the average person… all because you’re Canadian! A study diving into curse words found that Canadians are the biggest swearers, cussing more than Americans and the British. Even more, people from New Brunswick are the biggest culprit! They toppled Alberta, Ontario, and Saskatchewan as the biggest swearers in Canada, meaning they’re the biggest swearers on planet earth! $#!%!
GameScent Is a New AI Device That Lets You Smell Game Worlds While Playing
If you’ve ever played a video game and wondered “What would THAT smell like?” you now have your answer! A new device is being released that will help gamers smell the scents from their games. Aptly named ‘GameScent’, the device uses artificial intelligence to analyze audio cues from the game. It then dispenses a scent that would apply, including the smell of rain during a storm or gunfire in a first-person shooter. It uses cartridges with six potential scents available, including a ‘clean air’ smell that will tackle any lingering scents. It’s available now for $149 US. If you REALLY want to be immersed in your game, have fun with this weird thing.
End of an era: Phillies do away with ‘Dollar Dog Night’
It seems not everyone can handle their cheap hot dogs. The Toronto Blue Jays launched a ‘Loonie Dog’ night a few years ago, and they now hold them every few weeks. Thousands of fans show up, typically eating more than 50,000 hot dogs during these games. Other teams hold similar events, and that included the Philadelphia Phillies. Emphasis on the past tense there as the team has announced they will no longer hold the event. This comes after fans reportedly threw their hot dogs onto the field last season. These are the same sports fans who booed Santa Claus, so I don’t doubt they’d try to pelt Trea Turner with a dollar dog at least once. So, fair warning to Jays fans… don’t throw your loonie dog! They WILL take it away from us. You’ve been warned…
Actor Will Forte says completed “Coyote vs. Acme” film is likely never coming out
There is a Looney Tunes movie that has been made over the last few years, and we will likely never see it. The film is fully written, shot, produced, edited – it is a final product… But it will never be released. Not in the theatres, not on streaming, not even online. The reason? Taxes, apparently. The film is called ‘Coyote vs Acme’ and it’s similar to the Looney Tunes movie with Brendan Fraser in that it combines live action and the traditional cartoons. It covers the fictitious court case of Wile E. Coyote and his lawsuit against Acme, the company that produces all of the items the coyote uses to try and catch the Road Runner. We will never see this movie because, reportedly, the movie will help Warner Bros. Discovery save more money through taxes by scrapping it entirely then they’d ever make by releasing it. I find this so confusing and yet, incredibly fascinating. How does this make you feel? Would you want to see this movie? We’ll see if something changes, but right now, we never will.
Iconic ‘Sopranos’ booth where Tony Soprano may have been whacked will fetch over $30K at auction
Are you a fan of ‘The Sopranos’? It’s often considered the greatest television show of all time – it’s the ‘Citizen Kane’ of the silver screen – and many are still watching the show to this day. The finale has the main character, Tony Soprano, sitting in a booth in a diner. Journey is playing as the show is winding down, Tony looks up at the entrance of the diner, and the screen cuts to black. At the time, the finale created chaos. People thought their cable boxes had a mishap right as the biggest TV show had ended. Turns out…
*SPOILER*
It’s believed the screen cut to black because Mob Boss Tony was killed. If you’d like to own a piece of television history, you can actually BUY the BOOTH that actor James Gandolfini was sitting in for the scene. It’s currently up for auction, and expected to go for $30,000. If you own a local diner (looking at you, Troy) or you just want a booth in your home, this is a great chance to get a piece of TV history. Auction ends on Monday.
