The Milton Menace had themselves a great weekend!
On Friday, January 26th, the Menace welcomed in their North Halton rivals, the Georgetown Raiders. Heading into this match-up, the Menace were undefeated against Georgetown, winning the two games so far this season. They kept that rolling on Friday.
It was a powerplay goal that got things started for the Menace in the first period. Jonathan Mead buried it home at the 7:12 mark. His 6th of the season was assisted by Isaac Barrett and Joseph Macchione. Milton led Georgetown 1-0 after 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, Madden MacDougall scored shorthanded to make it a two goal game for the Menace. The 19th goal of the Guelph-native’s season was assisted by Mead and Alessandro Petreccia. The Raiders would then get on the board shortly after, making it 2-1 heading into the second intermission.
Aidan Puley continued his strong campaign, scoring his 23rd goal of the season with help from Captain Connor Driscoll and Ivan Fabjan. Georgetown would make it close, but it was a GOALIE GOAL that buried the dagger. Glen Crandall from his own net made it a 4-2 win for the Menace. Driscoll and Marcus Tryfon got the apples.
MAKING OJHL HISTORY… to our knowledge there has never been two "GOALIE GOALS" scored in a one season in the History of the OJHL. Congratulations to Glen Crandall of the Milton Menace.@MenaceOJHL @Sportsnet @TSN_Sports pic.twitter.com/u73rT4fZ4H
