The Milton Menace had an up and down weekend.
On Friday, January 19th, the Menace returned home after a long stretch of road games to take on the Mississauga Chargers.
It started off strong for the Menace, with Aidan Puley scoring his 20th goal just 1:24 into the first period. It was assisted by Madden MacDougall and Evan Grobanopoulos. Later in the period, Alexander Siletsky potted his 10th of the year, assisted by Johnathon Mead and Marcus Tryfon. Milton led ‘Sauga 2-0 after 20 minutes.
The second period was more of the same for the Menace, with Puley getting his 21st, this time on the powerplay with help from Ivan Fabjan and Captain Connor Driscoll. A few minutes later. Ashtyn Pacheco netted his 5th, assisted by Tryfon and Owen Kindree. Driscoll then got one of his own, assisted by MacDougall and Grobanopoulos. It was 5-0 Menace after two periods.
The Chargers would get on the board to start and end the final frame, but Menace rattled off three more goals in between. Puley, Driscoll, and MacDougall all padded their stat sheet. Milton beat Mississauga 8-2.
In net was Ariel Zaslaver, who had a quite night. He faced just 22 shots, stopping 20 for a save percentage of .909%.
Two days later, the Menace would host another game at the Milton Memorial Arena.
The Markham Royals were in town on Sunday, January 21st. They started off the scoring, getting two unanswered goals in the first period. For the first time that weekend, the Menace were losing.
Ivan Fabjan would get the Menace on the board in the second period, scoring his 15th of the season. The powerplay marker was assisted by Connor Driscoll and Owen Kindree. Before the period came to an end though, Markham would bring the lead back up to two goals. It was 3-1 Royals after two periods.
Alessandro Petreccia was able to make it close for the Menace in the third, but they were unable to tie it up late. Markham beat Milton 3-2.
Glen Crandall was in net for the Menace. He faced 25 shots, stopping 22. That gave him an even .880% save percentage.
Next up for the Menace is another home game, this time against their North Halton rivals: The Georgetown Raiders. Milton is undefeated this season against Georgetown, winning both match-ups so far this season. Game three will take place on Friday, January 26th at the Milton Memorial Arena.
