Menace Warm-Up 2019
The Milton Menace were hard pressed to get a stop against the Brantford 99ers and it cost them the game.
On Thursday, January 18th, the Menace went down the highway to take on the old Milton Icehawks team at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
Milton opened the scoring in the first few minutes with Madden MacDougall on the powerplay. His 17th goal of the season was assisted by Joseph Macchione and Alexander Siletsky. The Menace held off the Niners for most of the first period before Brantford managed to tie the game with less than a minute to go. It’d go into the first intermission tied 1-1.
In the second period, Brantford scored the lone goal. It was 2-1 Niners after 40 minutes of action.
Brantford then piled on the lead, scoring three unanswered goals in the first seven minutes of the third period. Alessandro Petreccia would get one back for Milton, assisted by Johnathon Mead and Graeme Macauley. That was essentially all she wrote, as Mead would make it a two goal game with one second left. Brantford beat Milton 5-3.
The goaltending situation was rough for the Menace. Glen Crandall got the start, but he was pulled after giving up four goals on just 17 shots. Ariel Zaslaver came in in relief, stopping 8 of 9 shots.
Next for the Menace, they host the Mississauga Chargers at the Milton Memorial Arena on Friday, January 19th. Game-time starts at 7:30 p.m. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
