The Town of Milton wants to hear you thoughts on a potential By-Law.
Known as Nuisance By-law, Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25 permits the Town to prohibit and regulate certain public nuisances respecting the economic, social and environmental well-being of the community, and the health, safety and the protection of persons and property.
The goal is to minimize neighbourhood disturbances and regulate/prohibit activities that may reasonably prevent residents from enjoying their properties.
Through a survey, your opinions would help shape the by-law so that it addresses issues of concern in the community, as well as set fines appropriately and effectively preserve the quality of life in Milton.
The Nuisance By-law survey explores questions such as:
- What do you consider a public nuisance?
- Have you reported any nuisance incidents to the Town of Milton?
- The purpose of fines is to deter further violations. What do you believe should be the appropriate range of fines to deter nuisances in the town?
The results of this survey will be used to inform an updated by-law for Council’s review and approval in March. If approved, the by-law is expected to be enacted in spring 2024.
Click here to complete the Nuisance By-law survey. It will close on Friday, February 9th.
Survey participants have a chance to win a set of noise-cancelling headphones. Contest rules apply.
