Do you watch award shows?
The Golden Globes were on Sunday night. Social media was filled with red carpet pics and lists of winners.
2023 was a big rebound year for award shows when it comes to TV ratings. That said, they’re still trending downward.
As we enter award show season, will you watch them this year? Or are you kind of over the glitz and glam of Hollywood?
Let me know!

Daily WTF – Venomous snake found lurking in public toilet in Australia
Australia is a different world. We always hear about the giant spiders and all the venomous creepy crawlies. They have stonefish along their beaches that if you step on one, it’ll sting you with venom. LOVELY! Going to the washroom? Watch where you’re sitting! A spotted black snake, also known as the blue-bellied black snake, was found hiding inside of a toilet recently in Australia. NIGHTMARE FUEL! No reports of injuries, but I’ll definitely be thinking about that whenever I sit on the ol’ porcelain throne. Read more here…
Daily Did You Know – The history behind the ‘Quality Greens Place’ sign in Downtown Milton
A timing issue led to us not being able to record a new edition of our Street Name History segment. So, in lieu of that, here’s my favourite one that we’ve done, talking about the sign visible at the corner of Main and Martin in Milton. Read more here…
Golden Globes 2024 highlights
Host Jo Koy was deemed a flop by social media, but the show itself seems to be making headlines for otherwise positive things. Oppenheimer swept the big categories, Succession also won big on the TV side of things, and Netflix’s “Beef” made history with its winning cast. Steven Yuen had a big 2023! And the best news? No one got slapped! Read more here…
‘Suits’ cast has an “INSANE” groupchat, sans Meghan Markle
Suits is such a fascinating show in that, it was your standard procedural/soapy drama that managed to find a second life during the pandemic. It also got a bump due to one of the cast members being a Duchess. It came out recently that the cast of the show have an active groupchat, but Meghan Markle is not a part of it! Why? They don’t have her number. Maybe she changed her number, maybe she never meshed with them well enough to have her number. I feel like you NEED Markle in this chat, right? At least for the potential tea she might dish! Huge missed opportunity. Read more here…

N.W.A, Donna Summer, Tammy Wynette to Receive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards
A handful of acts will receive Lifetime Grammy awards this year. The surviving members of NWA headline the list, alongside Donna Summer, Tammy Wynette, Laurie Anderson, and Gladys Knight. These kind of awards are really cool to see, and they always mean a lot to the people receiving them. Recognition is nice! Especially when your career is mostly over, and your heyday may feel like another lifetime ago. It’s nice to know that your life’s work meant something, so shoutout to all those being honoured. The ceremony will be held next month. Read more here…
Toronto man completes 242 marathons in 1 year, with eyes set on Guinness world record
With a look resembling the ‘I just felt like running‘ version of Forrest Gump, Toronto’s Ben Pobjoy is looking to break a world record. He’s so far run 242 marathons in the last year, running across almost 70 different countries. He technically has done all that he can to break the record, with the previous holder running 239 marathons in 2012. It just needs to be reviewed by the powers that be at Guinness World Records. He travelled 11,465 kilometres by foot, wow! We actually have a live reaction from his knees during his last run. Read more here…
Boeing’s mid-flight blowout a big problem for company
It’s like a scene from Final Destination! A door on one of Alaska Airlines planes quite literally blew off during a recent flight from Oregon to California. They reached a max height of 16,300ft before descending. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. People are now looking for the door because it might answer what exactly happened. Read more here…
