Milton Memorial Arena, 2019
Third time was most definitely the charm for the Milton Menace last night.
They went on the road to take on the Leamington Flyers at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre. The two teams tied in their first match-up this season, while the Flyers took the second game 5-4.
That said, the Menace were better team in the standings heading into Thursday’s game, and it showed on the ice.
The first period was scoreless, Leamington actually leading in shots 9-5. It was the second period where Milton started to run away with the game. Madden MacDougall opened the scoring, potting his eighth of the season, this one on the powerplay. It was assisted by Joseph Macchione and Justin O’Donnell. The Menace would lead 1-0 heading into the second intermission.
Milton then buried the dagger just three minutes into the final frame, with Sett Ursomarzo scoring his ninth of the year, assisted by Jayden Levesque and Gavin Sheehan. A few minutes later, Ivan Fabjan scored on the powerplay to make it a three-goal game. His goal was assisted by Owen Kindree and Captain Connor Driscoll. When the final horn blared, it was a 3-0 shutout win for Milton.
In net, Glen Crandall stopped all 25 shots for the perfect night.
The Menace will return home on Sunday, November 19th for a make-up game against the Aurora Tigers. Puck-drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Milton Memorial Arena. Milton Menace home tickets for this OJHL season can be found here.
