It’s that time of the year!
The Salvation Army Khi Community is getting ready for their 2023 Kettle Campaign. The fundraising campaign will be held Thursday, November 23rd to Saturday, December 23rd at six permanent locations. There will also be several pop-up locations during the season.
Each location will be equipped with Tip Tap machines, inviting debit/credit donations of $5, $10, or $20. The goal for this season is $195,000, a $20,000 increase from last year to meet the 40% increase in service use.
“We are deeply grateful for the generous support Milton has always provided and we are looking ahead to another successful campaign that will allow us to continue facilitating neighbours helping neighbours in our community,” says Family Services Director/Officer Ruth Hickman.
To achieve their goal, the Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to fill more than 750 2-hour shifts. New and previous volunteers can book shifts and training here. Student volunteers are welcome, with confirmation of hours provided at the end of the season.
This year, the fundraising campaign will kick off with ‘Taste & See’, an open house and tour of the Community & Family Services at the Salvation Army on Tuesday, November 21st, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. To attend, RSVP before Friday, November 17th.
