Nottawasaga OPP have arrested and charged multiple people in relation to an on-going drug investigation.
On October 18th, multiple search warrants were executed within the Town of New Tecumseth and City of Barrie. These locations included residences and businesses associated with the accused.
As a result of a police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga CSCU have arrested and charged three individuals with various offences.
A 27 year old female from Alliston, has been charged with:
· Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
· CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Opioid (other than heroin)
· Criminal Code of Canada (CC) 354(1)(a) Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
A 46 year old male from Barrie, has been charged with:
· CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
· CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Khat
· CC 91(2) Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
· CC 354(1)(a) Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – in Canada
· Cannabis Act (CA) 9(2) Possession for the purpose of distributing
· Tobacco Tax Act S.29(2) Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes
A 40 year old from Mississauga, has been charged with:
· CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
· CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Opioid (other than heroin)
· CDSA 5(2) Possession of a Schedule IV substance for the Purpose of Trafficking- Khat
· CC 354(1)(a) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
All three accused were released and are scheduled to appear in Court in November.
As a result of the investigation, police seized over 60 grams of Cocaine & Fentanyl.
