(Halton Region HQ)
The Halton Region is looking for feedback on a potential project.
They are carrying out a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) study for Regional Road 25 from Speers Road to Derry Road in both Oakville and Milton. This could lead to a wide range of “multi-modal transportation improvements,” which include:
- widening the roadway
- cross-sectional requirements
- active transportation
- transit supportive infrastructure
- intersection improvements
- overall traffic operations
The impacts of transportation improvements on social, cultural, and natural environments will be assessed and evaluated throughout the study.
You can share your thoughts on the matter. The Region is holding what they call ‘Public Information Centres’ (PIC). The purpose of the first PIC is to review and obtain public input on the study area needs and opportunities, background information, selection of the preferred solution, and next steps in the study. Anyone with an interest in this study is invited to participate virtually.
Learn all about the study and provide your comments here. The deadline is Thursday, November 9th.
