Two Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officers were attacked in Ottawa over the weekend.
The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigation Section has charged a man following an assault in the 1-100 block of York Street on Sunday, September 24th.
At roughly 1:45 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of an assault on York Street. Upon arrival police located two injured men. Both were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Both were identified as HRPS officers, neither of them were in uniform at the time of the attack. It’s believed they were in the city to attend the 46th Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial service on Parliament Hill on Sunday.
25-year-old Mikkhul Milord MILORD of Ottawa is facing two counts of Aggravated Assault. He appeared in court Monday afternoon.
As the investigation continues, further suspects may be identified and further criminal charged may be laid.
