Next week will be National Drowning Prevention Week.
Organized annually by the Lifesaving Society, National Drowning Prevention Week promotes the importance of practicing safe water habits. The Town of Milton will mark the occasion by offering free Swim to Survive lessons in an effort to raise water safety awareness.
Residents can register for free 30-minute Swim to Survive lessons aimed at helping inexperienced and new swimmers feel more confident around water. The lessons will follow the Swim to Survive guidelines. Registration is required. Participants can register here.
- Monday, July 17th and Wednesday, July 19th (multiple sessions from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
- Location: Rotary Park Pool
There will be a free competition opened to past participants of the Town’s lifesaving programs, including Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross. The competition will serve as a refresher on how lifesavers can keep themselves and others safe in water environments. Participants will face rescue simulations where they will need to put their past training to practice. Interested residents can register here.
- Friday, July 21st, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Location: Rotary Park Pool
