A Burlington music teacher is facing child pornography charges.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) – Internet Child Exploitation Unit began their investigation in May. They were looking into a person that was sharing child sexual abuse material.
29-year-old Matthew Wicks of Burlington was then arrested on Wednesday, June 21st and charged with:
- Possession of Child Pornography (2 counts)
- Accessing Child Pornography
Wicks had been a partial load faculty member at Mohawk College and is also the Head Percussion Instructor for the Burlington Teen Tour Band.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
