UPDATE
An update has been provided by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) on the death of a cyclist in Burlington.
The 81-year-old man was struck by a vehicle on North Shore Boulevard near the Queen Elizabeth Way overpass on the afternoon of Thursday, May 18th.
HRPS have since arrested a 41-year-old Ji Feng of North York after she reportedly fled the scene. She’s been charged with Failure to Stop After An Accident Resulting in Death and Careless Driving Causing Death.
We’ll update you should more information be provided by the HRPS.

An 81-year-old man is dead after a hit-and-run collision.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says that on Thursday, May 18th at roughly 2:30 p.m., the male cyclist was fatally struck while riding eastbound on North Shore Boulevard near the QEW overpass in Burlington. The cyclist was rushed to Burlington Hospital by ambulance but succumbed to his injuries.
The involved vehicle fled the scene eastbound on North Shore Boulevard and was last seen turning northbound on Maple Avenue. Preliminary investigation suggests it will be a recent model year silver Volkswagen Jetta, or similar four-door vehicle. It will have damage to the front right, the hood and windshield.
Burlington District uniform and plain clothed officers responded to initiate the investigation. Investigators from the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended to assume carriage of the investigation due to the death and were supported by member of the Forensic Services. North Shore Boulevard in the vicinity of the QEW was closed for roughly five hours for investigation.
