An Oakville man has been arrested following an investigation into someone breaking into vehicles in Burlington.
On Thursday, May 11th, at roughly 6:30 a.m., the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) attended the area of the Lakeshore Road and Brant Street in Burlington for reports of a suspect checking door handles of vehicles. The suspect was located by police and placed under arrest. Investigation determined that the same individual was responsible for entering vehicles in the Queensway Drive area of Burlington on Wednesday, May 3th. At that time the suspect had gained entry to a vehicle and stole a pair of sunglasses and change.
41-year-old Brian McNeil of Oakville as been charged with:
- Theft Under $5000
- Breach Release Order
- Breach Probation
McNeil was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The HRPS says they encourage the public to continue to notify police of suspicious behavior in their neighbourhoods.
