The latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police is now available.
There were seven cases across Halton over the weekend:
On Friday, March 24th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Stewart Street and Kerr Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 66-year-old Oakville man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, March 24th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Brant Street and North Service Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 53-year-old Burlington woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, March 24th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Upper Middle Road and Highway 403 ramp in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old Stoney Creek man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, March 25th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Howden Crescent and Wilks Landing in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 43-year-old Brampton woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, March 25th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Ontario Street South and Laurier Avenue in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 47-year-old Milton woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, March 25th, Halton Police officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Steeles Avenue East and Tremaine Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 20-year-old Toronto woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, March 25th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Regional Road 25 and 22 Side Road in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 49-year-old Halton Hills woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
