It’s School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day across Halton!
Schools across the region are sharing their gratitude for the workers who help keep children safe in the communities.
If you’re looking to share your appreciation for crossing guards today, here’s a list of ways to do so from the Halton Catholic District School Board:
- Guard signals you to stop; all cyclists and drivers must stop
- Understand and follow the posted speed limits, especially in school zones
- Always check before turning at intersections
- Remain stopped until all pedestrians and guard have cleared the crossing. This is the Law.
- Do not drop children off in NO Stopping and NO parking zones
If you see a crossing guard today, make sure to thank them!
