The Halton Region has shifted to COVID-19 updates once a week.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show two additional deaths in the totals. One of the deaths was reportedly a Burlington resident, giving the city 197 total deaths. The other death was a Milton resident, giving our town 85 deaths total. Oakville remains at 144 total deaths. Halton Hills remains at 74 total deaths. Halton is now at 500 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 116 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 58,383. There have been 1,765 total hospitalizations in Halton and 500 deaths.
In Milton, we had 17 new cases. That brings us to 15,037 total cases. There have been 405 total hospitalizations in Milton and 85 deaths.
There are currently no outbreaks reported in Milton.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,541,435 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,374,822 of the doses were to Halton residents.
